Done! So excited about Henrys room. I took all of nine months to complete and we cannot wait to have him home in it. I hope he enjoys it! All of the animals are my husbands animals from when he was a boy, and also the little antique rocking horse. Teh antique rug was purchased here at Caboose Antiques, which I had always looked at and thought, that could only worked in a little boys room...I said if I ever had a boy and that rug was still at the store, then I had to have it!
The painted bunnies were from an old Brunschwig & Fils wallpaper that I have had a clipping of for a long time. The changing table came from Pier One and when I purchase it, it was all black with four white stripes down the front, she gave it to me 50% off because the leg wouldnt screw in correctly...knowing I could have this fixed, I was SOLD! I had the mirror above the changing table already and just refinished it to make it work together. The rocking chair came from a friend of Christophers wonderful parents that used it when they had an 'itty bitty.'
Im most excited about his boat....I really wanted a canoe, but searched exhaustively before realizing unless I got lucky, Id be shelling out a ridiculous amount for it! Luckily, we found this boat in an antique store, all it needs is his name painted on it!
We are going to set up a tv behind the door with a 'swing arm' so that when he is old enough, he can get his 'Einstein' on...
The Wizard Of Oz books, that are in the bookcases have been in my family for a very long time. They are over 100 years old and were passed down to me from my grandmother. My great-grandmother would purchase the books, as soon as a new one came out. Im so glad I finally found a place for them. And when Henry discovered what crayons are, Im sure I will be locking them up soon! :)
I wanted some contemporary elements in here, but when I got started, I realized that contemporary just wouldnt fit, even in small doses. Oh well, Im sure Ill have one of my 'fits' in a few years and completely redo when hes about three or so! Or maybe when he has a little sibling on the way??? (Sorry, Im 37 1/2 week crazy talkin'!)...

Since its been last year since Ive posted, I guess ill catch you up! Christopher and I took a fabulous trip to Dublin, Ireland with our friends Amanda Davis, Brown Haynie, and John and Mary Edwards. It was the best new years ever and a true eye opener.....(that there are people who like to drink just as much as Southerners, just with different accents)...for the most part, the Irish were nice people and it is true...they drink all day long, will drink you under the table, and are still standing, though you have fallen fast

The Oliver St. John Gogarty....seriously? Isn't that the best name ever?

Waiting in the airport...Christopher asked me if that was Harry Potters mom...

Temple Bar...the first Irish Bar we went to on the trip!

They usually had Irish bands playing fiddling type music every where we went..

Recuperating in our favorite restaurant (that we went to twice)..called the Farm after a long night in Temple Square...they served persecco with blueberries that moved all around in your glass the whole time...

Another shot of The Farm.....those pics on the wall were all baby farm animals and the light fixtures changed colors from pink to green to blue etc...They served nothing but organically grown food! Delish!!

St. Patricks Cathedral.....this church is ssooooo old, its really breathtaking...

Seating for super important people very close to the alter....The flags are from different prominent Irish families that used to rule.... (that part is true)

This building used to be an old bank, that was converted to a pub, I wish I had pictures of the inside...its absolutely beautiful..

At the oldest pub in Dublin, built in the 1600's........take a second to realize how OLD that is........ the tap was at your table, which spun around and you poured yourself....luckily, we were very skilled on pouring our own Guiness at this point...!

This Saturday was Joey and Megan Hynes wedding and it was so beautiful! They had the best food and an even better band that everyone had fun dancing to (Well except for me because I was scared of baby shake syndrome)....

And to reinterate how MUCH dancing and showboating was going on.....I call this delightful next section....THATS YO HUSBAND.....(i know, i know, start combing the photogalleries for ridiculous pics of Christopher)...I just think they are having so much fun and the dancing would not have been complete without them

I also had time the weekend to catch up with some great friends!

Georgia Brown and the Boo had so much fun at their Mia's house this weekend. We were all relaxing by the pool when all of a sudden, Georgia decided she was hot and splashed everyone by cannonballing into the pool....she saw all the big balls floating around and went after them!!!

Also, you know when your dog gets all in your face and just stares at you for no good reason? Its because they are bored and think you were put on this earth to entertain them.....the girls were both doing this for extended lengths of time Sunday, that it started to get annoying......so we decided to take them to dog heaven.....PetCo.

I have been mildly put in charge of window displays at the shop, which is nice because I get to do some 'out of the box' thinking. Here are the first two I ever finished...

'Round and Round'... I wanted this to be all black and silver with a spot of bright color... most of the objects in the window had something to do with spots, dots or circles.

'Flowers make the food taste better'...You cannot see on the ground of the window but there was a 'wine and cheese' pinic set up. The idea for this was a 'pinic gone awry' With lots of colors spilling out of the baskets..

Soooooooooo Heres what Ive been up to lately.....I have so much blogging to do! But I just cant find the time....The first pics are from a Parade Of Homes house we did in June and the others are from the store which actually do not do it justice. Anyway, I will take some more pics that will show you some of the things I actually laid my hands on while building this thing up(along with a ridiculous story to coincide). Anyway I will continue the funny and the interesting very soon....but until then, I will keep telling myself,...(in a funny British accent) (think, Devil Wears Prada)....I love my job, I love my job, I love my job....(David fades back into the deep abyss of retail)

The Labradoodle Update

Christopher and I were actually in town at the same time this weekend and it was pretty laid back....(except the part in between when Jake and Kate Paddy's wedding happened)...(O, and that trip to the doggy emergency room when we thought Georgia swallowed a piece of glass)......but all-in-all, a great weekend! Here are a few highlights of our dog...hope you enjoyed the fabulous weather this weekend too!

sidenote: (This was pretty much the only part of Lake Bisteneau that had not been overtaken by Salvinia...for those who havent seen it, it is basically a green sheet of plants across the lake.....so sad.)

Red Headed Baby News!!!!

So I realized I havent posted anything in awhile when I visited my page and found my celebratory post regarding Cinco De Mayo! But lots has happened in the interim! The most important though is that Kristen and Kyle Blair found out that they are going to have a sweet baby GIRL!!! Everyone is very excited and cannot wait to meet her. So to help celebrate the fact that I foresee some red hair in the near future..here are some hilarious red headed baby pics!

So I was thinking about where I could possibly go to get some jasmine tea in this city (dont judge, just google it) and happened to be driving by Bao Bao International Food Market, Im assuming you pronounce that one Bow, Bow, ....anyway, I went inside and was really impressed. The place is not so pretty, but they have everything asian you would ever want, frozen and ready-made or raw (whichever you choose) and ready for you to take home. They had seaweed salad, potstickers etc. and most of it is flown in from overseas, so theres a 90 percent chance your getting the real thing. If you ever wanted to try and make your own sushi, he's got it....and he said he would take the time to show you how to make it!

They have hot food cooked there also. The owner told me he sells to most of the asian restaurants here in town! So save your money going out, and try something fun at home!P.S. dont forget the SAKE! Now heres a zen garden, so you can Chillax:

The other day, Georgia's friend Frank came over to visit. Frank is a doberman and is scary as hell, but in actuality, hes pretty sweet. I tried not to get to close with the camera for fear of my limbs being eaten off, so I hope you can enjoy what I got. By the way, his name is Frank Sour.....doesn't that sounds like your granfather? or a really good attorney? either way, I wouldn't mess with him.

This is a congratulatory post to Christopher's oldest brother and wife, owners of the interior design firm, Riehl Designs. They competed on HGTV's Designers Challenge and won the design job for a house in West Palm Beach. The show aired last week and they did such an amazing job on the home! On the way to the lake a couple of weeks ago....Christopher took me to a restaurant I had never heard of before for an espresso. I think Lilas has been around for a while but this was my first time tasting this goodness. We sat down in front of window (to watch the vehicle) and had our espresso and I had a snickerdoodle. We decided that we loved this place so much that we wanted to try lunch there.

When we came back later that day, we grabbed two magazines that the owners conveniently provided and sat down for lunch. We spent the next two hours just hanging out, flipping through mags, and having some soup & sandwiches. The people are nice and you feel right at home. I highly recommend the Chicken Pesto Melt or anything really. Check it out if your in the mood for something new!!
